Gary Stickel, Ph.D. (UCLA), Kizh Tribal
Archaeologist, whom the London Times called "The real-life Indiana Jones" will present information on the origin of the Kizh, both according to their own legends and that of anthropologists and archaeologists, about the first Indian Tribe of the Greater Los Angeles area. He will also speak about their hero, Toypurina ("the Joan of Arc of California").

Join us as we hear from Andrea Lennon, Fisher House Assistant Manager. Fisher House is a beautiful home away from home for the families of Veterans and military service members receiving care at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The Fisher House provides temporary lodging in a comfortable and relaxed setting, only steps away from the medical facility. Guests can stay at the Fisher House at no cost for as long as their loved one is hospitalized.

Ms. Sharon Lewis & Ms. Debbie Cordero will present information about the EYE-DAS Foundation. EYE-DAS is a not for profit organization dedicated to helping the visually impaired in the San Gabriel Valley since 1975. EYE-DAS encourages those with vision problems to become more independent and lead a more productive and satisfying life. Meetings are held once a month - excluding July and August - at one of three locations in Glendora, West Covina, and Arcadia / Pasadena.

4:30PM - Union Station Dinner Service
Roll up your sleeves and know the pleasure of community service with the Pasadena Host Lions Club when we prepare and serve a home cooked dinner at Union Station Homeless Services for individuals and families going through hard times. . Whether you like to prep, cook, serve or clean-up, we can always use an extra pair of hands. Union Station is the San Gabriel Valley’s largest and most comprehensive social service agency assisting homeless and low-income people.
